“The Guide says there is an art to flying”, said Ford, “or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

sometimes when you’re feeling down
it pays to look up
i literally just took these shots
watching them circling up
and flying away
to who knows where
i hope, they find their
place
(for lucile’s photo 101 rehab)
*shot with nikon d700 and af-s nikkor 70-200mm f/4 lens at f/4, ISO200, and with hope*
I expect they know exactly where they’re going 🙂
It always pays to look up and migrate, just like the birds do!
I love shooting birds but have yet to learn to do photos like these.
I agree! They were difficult to take and I would like to try more to do a better job next time, the VR system on the lens helped a lot though.
I need to learn these things from you! Durk says I am in love with birds (besides him LOL) but my photos don’t do justice to them.
We are all learning from each other, and I think your bird shots are cool!
Thanks! Cool blurry ones! 😉
I like a blurry photo! 😉
It is good to soar with the birds, Andy, and just free fall. These are wonderful.
Thank you Lois, and yes sometimes we just need to trust, fall and then soar…
Loving all the Douglas Adams quotes, Andy. this one is a beauty!
( have you ever thrown yourself at the ground and missed? lol)
Thank you Debbie, I was once a passenger (front seat) in a small glider which felt pretty much like that…
lol, and I thought that Douglas Adams had a pretty vivid imagination and a good way with words to source his humour.
never thought anyone might actually do that! obviously, you survived!
He is all that! And yes I survived although I never did it again…
