I must admit I did not go out and take this photo this morning in direct response to today’s landmark theme.
However, in my defence 😉 I took it just over a week ago at a famous local landmark and in taking the shot I wanted to capture a different angle. So, I think that probably both excuses me and fits the brief?
I was struck by how the line of people clambering up the monument looked like ants climbing along the ridge.

Thank you, I took the shot through the railings, it is a pyramid like structure and I really did want to find a different angle, I also felt it showed a little of the reverence that some may have felt when approaching the top…

I like it. I still shoot the majority of my landscapes without people in them, but seeing shots like yours makes me see why it’s important to include them at times. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve grown to love wide-angles. In my youth, I shot with only a 50mm and a 70-210mm, mostly with the latter. Then as the years have gone by, my view has widened and so have my lenses. My current 50mm is used for a few portraits and mostly macros, and the longer lenses are dusted off only a couple times per year.
I am enjoying looking at your wide shots. I invested in a 16-35mm nikon lens a year or so ago and I’ve been using it this afternoon…

Between the 12mm Voigtländer and the 16mm Leica, I prefer the 16mm angle of view better. The 12mm is far more difficult to frame and work with, plus the edges can look smeared.
My father had a Voigtländer camera, it was the first “real” camera I tried to use..many many years ago…
Then he had a real Voigtländer; the current iteration is owned by Cosina in Japan. Many of their Voigtländer products are okay to good; they build lenses and bodies for other photography entities, such as Zeiss, and those products are produced to a much higher standard and finish.
Yes, it was real thing, sadly don’t know what happened to it… 😦
