This trip was supposed to be to the top of Parking 58 which offers the best views across the rooftops of Brussel.
A locked gate bent me out of shape – angular
So, I grabbed this shot, and wondered if I would ever use it.
And, now, I have.
My contribution to this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge from The Daily Post at WordPress.

Thanks for the Parking 58 tip. So glad I found your blog. At least I know what to do know when I have my midday break, instead of eating my sandwiches in the office. 😉👍
Thanks David, I hope you have more luck than me in reaching the summit, if you do, please let me know! Good to meet, virtually at least, another Brussel resident here 🙂
Not really a resident as I live in Kortrijk. But I do work at Evere, so I am always discovering new places.
I shall look out for your posts!
I can’t make my mind up about this photo. It’s well taken no doubt about that. It’s uninteresting to me yet oddly frustrating with the piece of metal stuck in ones face that makes it almost interesting through the frustration of its lack of appeal. Did that make sense? Lol
That is a very fair critique Justine….the photo was kind of shot in anger, I had read how cool the views are from the top of this car park…and the owners of the Comune or whoever had locked it off preventing any access – I’d like to say the offensive part of the shot was a “statement” but it just came out that way…so yes it does make sense 😉 (I think…)
🙂 yay it was making sense to me until i had a moment of self doubt whilst pressing reply! Thats a bummer about it being locked but maybe another opportunity might present itseld? Xx
I will definitely try again x
🙂
In fact – reading above comments – I love even more the photo. It is full of angles; the physical angle and your angle on a locked gate. Put together, it’s impeccable.
Oh, wow, thank you. It is quite a “jarring” photo…
And for that, unique!
Andy, I like it! I like the blurry background and the unknown piece as the center. 🙂

Thank you, I think it breaks a few “rules”…
You know what they say about rules! Anyway, whose rules?
With you on that Janet!
After going through all the thoughts, I can say, It is a ‘jarring’ pic 😀 I like the perspective and emotion you had in mind while clicking it ! 🙂
Thank you Andy!
